Electronic prescription service (EPS)

An NHS program called the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) enables your doctor's office to electronically send your prescription or prescriptions straight to the pharmacy of your choice. You can now pick up your prescription(s) and drop them off at the pharmacy without having to go to your doctor's office.
 

How does the service work?

The service is easy to use. When a doctor or other healthcare provider writes an NHS prescription, it is electronically transmitted to the patient's preferred pharmacy. This eliminates the need for the patient to visit the pharmacist with a written prescription. Rather, the prescription will be stored on the pharmacy's computer system.
 

Is EPS effective for both one-time and recurring prescriptions?

Yes, your doctor can transmit both one-time and recurring prescriptions to the pharmacy via the EPS system. You can ask your doctor to electronically transfer your prescriptions to our pharmacy if you haven't already designated our pharmacy with your general practitioner.
 

How is our pharmacy nominated for EPS?

You can designate our pharmacy for electronic prescription service if you want us to fill your medications. If you would like your prescriptions to be forwarded to our pharmacy electronically, you may either inform your GP of this or speak with a staff member in-store. Please do not hesitate to ask for help in-store if you need it.
